Make Your Mark | DEVIN THORPE

We at The Villa are so pleased to introduce to our growing Villa community our friend and like-minded passionate do-gooder, Devin Thorpe. Devin is a corporate social responsibility advocate, a crowdfunding speaker and trainer, a published author, new media journalist, Forbes contributor, and, ardent champion of social good. Whew!  In other words, he’s a man of many, many extraordinary talents. He’s funny, he’s inspiring, and, really, just an all-around terrific human being.

Merrilee and I were privileged to meet with Devin last week over lunch to talk about our leadership work with the United Nations World Food Programme and the Girls on Fire Leaders in Kenya. Devin’s mission is to bring a global perspective to international audiences, and he does it through public speaking, writing, and webcasting, to empower people to do more good and make their own mark on the world. At last count, his book, Your Mark On The World, has been read over 1 million times and his popular YouTube series--that has featured over 600 celebrities, CEOs, billionaires, entrepreneurs, and others who are out to change the world--has been viewed over 200,000 times. (By the way, his book is available on Amazon in both paperback and Kindle formats, with the Kindle version a free download).

“Your Mark On The World will change your life if you let it. This book will inspire you to become the best version of yourself, doing more good in the world than you ever thought possible without sacrificing the things that are most important to you.” –Devin Thorpe

Devin recently posted a YouTube video that we think is awesome.

#StandUpForWomen is an enlightened message about women from a man’s perspective, and one that ALL MEN and ALL WOMEN need to hear.

You can watch it right now! It’s powerful, it has a touch of humor in places, but most importantly, it provides all of us with an inspiring role model of how one person is doing his part to work for gender equality. I seriously cannot stop watching it.
